Gene Gage speaks about what it’s like to work with Venue. He loves that Executive Chef John Benton pushes him to try to grow new things he’s never experienced.

I was growing only for the very top-flight restaurants.
“Omaha was at the beginning of my produce business, they were by far my biggest customers. I was growing only for the very top-flight restaurants, then I started meeting young chefs who were not criticizing my product all the time or being demanding. They were curious and that continued for a while, I just got tired of driving to Omaha twice a week, so I’ve limited myself to three restaurants in Lincoln. The main reason I love working with Venue is that John will try anything. For me, I’ve grown a lot of potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and basic stuff but john will try anything. He asks me to try new things that I’ve never tried or didn’t know about, so every week is exciting!”
