When I deliver to Venue…I can have five or six chefs gathered around.
“My name is Gene Gage. I have a small farm called Heartland Organics, which is east of Crete and southwest of Lincoln. I make most of my living growing and selling vegetables, most of that to restaurants and most of that restaurant business is to Venue. When I deliver to Venue, unless it’s totally crazy like Tuesday morning at 10:45, I can have five or six chefs gathered around. Some of John’s chefs know in advance what I’m going to bring because they see the orders, so they’ll come by and say, “oh I want to see those roselles!” or “I want to see that new red mustard you have”. That kind of thing has never happened to me before. It’s just fun, it’s a totally different scene doing business with Venue.”
